Cat Crazies!!

Yesterday was Cat Crazy day.  Normally we have Cat Crazies one at a time.  You know, those Cat Crazies when your fur babies suddenly race around the house, chasing Things You Can Not See, jumping around, pouncing for no reason, doing back flips, and then stopping to lick themselves and look up at you like everything is perfectly normal.  ::snort::  In our house, yesterday was Cat Crazy Day.  This means that not one, not two, not three... but four... yes, four cats had the Cat Crazies!!!  Fortunately for us this wasn't all at one time.  Well, at least not for long.  Thank Goodness they've all been pretty well trained to watch out for Mom!!!  Having bad knees etc. a crazed cat racing under my legs could make me fall and this would Not be a Good Thing.

We're used to Mister Kitten and Star having the Cat Crazies.  This is normal around here.  After all, they're the 'babies', even if Mister Kitten is three and Star is ~eight-nine.  However,  yesterday they were joined by Thomas!!  Thomas, being the dominant cat in the pride rarely gets into the act.  But then... then... yes then!  Zaphoid Beeblebrox.  Zaphoid Beeblebrox aka Emo Kitty got the Cat Crazies.  Zaphy??  Zaphy??  Cat Crazies?!?  Has the world come to an end?  The twins really surprised us with that, especially since they are now about 12-13.  ::shakes head::

I didn't do it!!  It was my Evile Twin!!

In other news, my husband's camera is down as well.  ::sigh::  We've got rabies shots coming up as well as bills to pay.  meh.  So there's not telling when I'll have another camera to work with, even one of the cheapy ones from the grocery.  I found out this morning that the wife of a friend of ours is going into surgery to have her breast removed (stage 2 or 3 cancer).  d*mn.  I'm going through things in the house trying to "Clean Sweep/House" and put the things in my daughter's Girl Scout troop garage sale.  If my daughter can manage to get her grades up ::glares at daughter:: then she can go with the troop to Savannah this summer to visit Juliette Low's birthplace.  ::sigh::  I hope she can pull it off.  I'd like to be able to make more brochures and business cards for the shop but I just can't afford to do it right now.  Other things come first.  Food for us and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde (Iams... anything else makes them sick, this is a Bad Thing!), meds for us & rabies shots for them, etcetera etcetera etcetera  and everyone else is in the same boat.  I pray for everyone each night.  Okay, I'm getting maudlin... I'm going to put up a breast cancer graphic from the shop in honor of my friend's wife.  EDIT:  She had the surgery on Friday at Vanderbilt and is home recovering.
3x5 sticker - it's made out of the same material as the bumper stickers... ergo... ::weg::

  1. We are sending purrs and prayers for your friend - my mom had breast cancer and I know how much it sucks.

I also understand the cat crazies - we have had a lot of that since it got nicer outside. And our two older cats have been joining in - I really think it is spring fever!

  2. Maybe it's a Kitty Good Weather Dance! ::grin::

We've got a history of BC in my family as well. My great-gran passed away from it, grandmother survived for years following a radical mastectomy, and my mother has had a lumpectomy. I've been having an annual mammogram since I weaned my son. I got to have an ultrasound as well last year. wheeeee! And last year one of my four sil's had a double mastectomy. She only had cancer in one but there is so much BC in her family that she wanted to just get it over with and do the reconstruction at one fell swoop instead of having to come back in.
