Shhhhhhhhh! We's Trying to Get Mom to Sleep

"Dad has gone to Music in the Mountains in AK.  Mom would have gone but we sat on her.  I mean really.  She's not only had a bad  week but who on earth would feed us and water us and and and..."

He's right.  I don't even know what day it is.  Which would explain why I missed the massage class... not that I was in any shape to stay anyway.  Flop Cat aka Mister Kitten sat on me for a loooooooong time.  I need sleep.  And kittens who will both do homework on time and turn it in.  ::sigh::

"I can keep an eye on 'em mom!!"

"I'll give them the lecture mom!"

"And I'll help lay on you and make sure you don't get up!!"

"Us??  Ummmm... uhhhh... noooo... not us!!"

Yesterday Was Busy!!

First I went to the pain clinic.  A week early.  ::head:laptop::  Which actually didn't turn out too bad because I was able to ask them about getting an Allegra prescription for the itching I've had since switching from Lyrica to Keppra.  They didn't do that but I called my pcp and by luck they had a 1300 appointment (the first appointment that isn't until next week was at 1145) so I hung out in the parking lot talking with my mom.  I didn't see my pcp but a doctor who is helping out and will fill in for her when she takes a vacation next month.  We talked about a concern so I got an ekg & chest x-ray, all good!  I just heard from the office & have an neuro appointment at Vandy early in the morning which works well since I have a near lunchtime appointment with my pdoc.  Whoot!  I thought my daughter had a make-up test that afternoon so I went straight to the school, calling just as the bell rang, hoping to catch my son before he got on the bus (both kids hate & loathe the bus but I don't have the energy to pick them up everyday).  It turned out that she didn't have a test so we all went to get flu shots and then home again, home again, jiggity jig!!

"I am soooo glad that mom finally let me out!!  My bumps have gotten smaller and are going away.  I told her I just needed to get outside!!  I'm back to sleeping on the bed at dad's feet but I'm not really getting up close to mom, even for treats!  I don't think she's going to pill me again but I'm going to take any chances for awhile."

"Well, not only do we have Pernicious Fleas, but I'm having to take Hairball Remedy!!  Okay, okay, it actually doesn't taste bad at all.  And I just hate hairballs!!!"

"My Feeder and I enjoyed watching the NCIS premiere last night!!
I'm also glad he got his flu shot.  Do you think it will make the Pernicious Fleas go away??"

Thomas says, "This is one of my bestest friends who was the second or third members of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde.  His name was Nicodemus the Evile Anti-Koala, aka Thief Cat.  Whenever mom & our ex-dad moved they would find stashes of the things Nicky would take and hide.  He also really liked crackers (but especially saltines).  If mom or our ex-dad left them on the table, Nicky would hunt them.  He'd sneak up (we are Ninjas after all!) and then grab a cracker, swoosh!  Then he'd got to a corner and nibble on the cracker just like a squirrel!!  Nibbling round and round until it was allllllll gone.  Mom says he had more Burmese blood in him than Siamese.  Nicky crossed the bridge in our last house purring on her chest.  We all came up to say good-bye and gave him purrs, head butts, & grooming and made sure the house was quiet for him."

"There are lots of poses of this but I  like this one.
It makes me think of teenage kittens."

PS - Please keep sending purrs & prayers for Bruce my ex's cat.  Also, he has three interviews this week.  We are all crossing our paws!!

Poll... What Should We Work On??

"Okay, we've been helping mom with the shop and we need to know what to make mom work on next.  Of course we have to make sure she doesn't work very long because it makes her hurt.  Last night I kept sitting on her mouse which made her mad.  HAHA!  I am the bestest at doing it because I weigh way way way way more much than anyone else in the Ninja Horde.  ::purrrrrrrrrrrrr::  Star is still avoiding the bed because he's mad at mommy for pilling him.  He's actually gotten up on the bed today for the first time in days."

"I'm helping by conserving energy.  Conserving energy is very important to keep the world green.  No, really!!"

generic holiday stuff... heh heh heh

Poor Mommy!! We Should Get Her Chocolate!

"Well, I've been busy, busy, busy allllllll day making sure mom rested along with the kids because they're all sick.  Jen has been sick with something since Monday that made her voice squeek like a mouse!  (I was nice though and didn't try to catch her.)  But mom and Corwyn went to the doc-in-the-box today and were told that they have sinus infections.  So mom went to get them some medicine.  She has been making everyone drink a lot and we've been making them all rest."

"This makes mommy sad because she was looking forward to seeing daddy play with one of his bands tonight!!  But the venue is a cigar bar and it would not be good for her.  We are sad when mom is sad.  We will purr and purr and purr until she's feeling better."

"Oh noes!  Mom forgot one of her meds!!
(she has two designs for this)"

"PS mom has started working on a calendar of us for 2011!!!  She'll have one with her drawings and one that's pictures of the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde, like this one..."

Mom!! We've Got an Idea for YOU!!

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde got together and kept posing all over the bed.  Not only that, but they stayed still long enough for me to take pictures of them.  Now it all began with StarWalker BitCat the ComputerKitty.  I looked up and there was this stunning beauty turning his head with just a wee bit of red collar showing (Star always insists on having either red or blue).  I must admit that I do have a certain fondness for Star's lithe grace.  He is my panther.  And even if he doesn't always come in at night, when I curl up to go to sleep as I'm drowsing I find a paw draped across my calf.  [Thomas likes to get in everyone's way... this includes the humans.  He has been known to shove humans off of the bed as easily as Mister Kitten, and Mister Kitten outweighs him by four pounds!]

"I'm very good at making sure mom sleeps longer
when she hasn't slept well."

He makes me sleep in when I've had trouble getting to sleep.  As an example, last night I wasn't able to get to sleep until 0200.  This meant that Da Boys made me sleep until just after 1200.  Wow!  Then I had to read a gazillion posts, emails, an odd bizarre cartoon on lj or two, and watch something on YouTube.  During this I had to stop to reply to some of the gazillion posts, emails, forward an odd bizarre cartoon or two, and something on YouTube.  As you can imagine, this took some time, especially since it was interrupted by forays to get Sumpin-to-Eat & Sumpin-to-Drink (these are technical terms) for me and Sumpin-to-Eat & Sumpin-to-Drink & Treats for Da Boys (these are extremely important!!).

"I ensure that mom takes naps.  Naps are important.
Everyone should take at least one nap a day.
Two are better.  Make that five... maybe more."

There was also some checking in on the painting going on in the kitchen.  "MOM!!  Does this mean that our food will be in the Right Place soon?!"  Not yet boys, but soon!  ::everyone crosses paws::   After that Some Cat Who Shall Remain Nameless (we suspect Zaphoid, but it could have been Star since they were both in here) viciously made me fall asleep while trying to get over to the Blogger tab!!!  It was a two hour nap which isn't the world's most comfortable in that position.  By that time I had to go get Sumpin-to-Eat & Sumpin-to-Drink again.  Which meant going Out Into the World because there was nuthin' to eat at the inn... ummm... uh... the fact that I wanted Peach Tea had nothing to do with it.  I just got more because the drive-through had the caloric intake written on the board (in ranges... whoot!!).

"Okay... who's got the greenies?
Law & Order: Criminal Intent is coming on!!"

And then our "stories" came on...  what's that?  Oh!  Their idea.  No idea.  I'll ask them tomorrow.  No, really!!

"Hey mom!  If you get this bag you can go to the store, buy us lots of greenies, and not have to use plastic bags to carry them home in!!  Green-ies!!  Green-ies!!  Green-ies!!"

Shhhhhh!!! Someone's Sleeping!!

Mister Kitten?  Are you asleep?

I've heard that sleeping makes your weight go down.

Wow!  How many cats can fall asleep doing yoga??

I know you're flexible, this makes... now wait!
You weigh 19 pounds now!!!

Tom likes to teach synchronized sleeping as well as graceful lounging.

Is It Friday Yet??

Last night there was a ninja cat in my bathroom.  No, really!!  A black cat on a black bathroom rug can not be see by the light of a nightlight.  He can, however be felt by the feet of someone used to stumbling upon cats in the night.  This was a good thing last night.  He also slept with me for a wee bit.  This morning Timmy was in the well again.  ::shakes head::  Zaphy and Thomas kept telling us about it.  Thomas was not inclined to let me know what he wanted so I finally escorted, ahem, him outside.  Odd, the moment I did he stopped complaining and perked up.  ::rolls eyes::

As for Zaphy, he wanted morning treats.  Well, and a nice place for a nap.  He kept nudge at the drapes on the window behind our bed.  He's never really been able to explore it before with the old waterbed frame.  But now we're using the pegged bed frame that my husband made for us to use in our medieval period tent.  He nudged and nudged and I gave in and pulled up the blinds.  He looked out for a minute, looked over at his window ledge, looked at the vastly smaller one on this ledge (which he could tell he wouldn't fit on!!) and decided to curl up behind my back.

Now the girlchild & I just have to get ready to go drive this afternoon for about an hour to pick up the boychild after his graduation from chess camp!

"Bushwah!  Do I look like a cat who would spend
his time camping out all night on a black rug?
Don't answer that!"

"Meom!!  Timmys in the well!!!"

"Meom!!  Meom!!  I swear!!  I swear!!
Timmys in the weeeeellllll!!!!!!"

"What??  I didn't say a word."

Yesterday: Star & Thomas

Da Boys know where my bed is now.  ::rolls eyes::  But I'm afraid they've deserted me for bedtime sleeping.  You see, my husband is an.... active sleeper.  I think sometimes he is enacting whatever he is dreaming.  No, really!!  Rather like the cats.  Everyone seems to have forgotten about hanging out in the window seat or on the pillow I keep on the other side of me safe from the whirlwind daddy person (to be avoided at every cost!!  well, except his feet, for some reason his feet were okay).  But the foam bed is smaller and it doesn't leave room at the bottom for all four kitty-cats.   Or at least that's their opinion at the moment.  We're being boycotted.

But only at night!  Zaphy is at my feet as we speak and I've had a few other visitors lately... but only one long enough to get on camera...

"Darn!  A flea!  This will make it harder
to keep her from detecting me!"

"I have tried using my Supr Skrt Ninja Powers
to lengthen the bed, alas to no avail!"

"Hel-lo!  Was that a treat back there?"

"This is the Cat Chi Gong method of drawing treats
that have gone over the edge of the bed back into your paws.
You can not achieve this method until you have attained a red collar.

In other news, Thomas was caught, not only sitting at the table at his normal chair (Thomas has a chair he likes to sit at as if he were waiting for dinner to be served... often when the bowls need refilling) but he pulled a major no-no that he hasn't done in a couple of years!!  (I think he's been trying his best to be a good example to the 'kitten' ever since I caught him doing something and read him the riot act and mentioned something like that... what can I say??  I have seriously smart cats!!)  At any rate, Thomas kept starting to get on the table.  I kept stopping him.  He kept starting.  I kept stopping.  Finally he just got up and pranced his way across the table the very minute that I started leaving the kitchen!!  Ha!!  Cat mommy has eyes in the back of her head!  Thommmmas!!  Skitter scatter!!  Harumph!

Tag-teaming Daddy!!

My husband just got home from an SCA* meeting followed by the Cave Dwellers band practice he had.  When he began moving the top pillow he uncovered, ta-dah!, Star!!  So, of course, Star was moved.  Up came Thomas.  My husband glared at him.  "Oh no Thomas!!  You're not getting up here!"  You see, Thomas is notorious for getting in your space should you fail to be occupying it.  Naturally Dale scooped Thomas up to shift him out of the way as... you guessed it!!!  Star came sneaking back up onto his pillows.  Arrrrgggghhhh!

Dale picks up Star and puts him down at the end of my side of the bed as I watch, not saying a word.  Back and forth, back and forth.  Ending up with my husband's hands on his hips scowling down at them, "You two are tag-teaming me!!"  ::giggle::  Star & Thomas just looked up at him and then began shifting back towards the coveted pillow space again.  Alas & alack!!  It seems that dad was a wee bit too fast for them.  Thus my husband lays beside me, waiting for me to poke him and make him take his glasses off and actually go to sleep.

"Now if we both do the song and dance,
we'll look so awesomely cute that he
has to leave us alone!"

 "Poohbears!  Time for Plan B!"

"Ahem.  What happened is that dad fell asleep.
Then mom fell asleep too!"

"So we control the vertical.
We control the horizontal...
ummm,  what I mean is that we
finished up the post for today!  Star?
The screen is blurry!  Get me a pair of mom's glasses!"

"Mom & dad both need one of these...
but what to get them?  T-shirt?  Coffee mug?"

*In this case, SCA stands for the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Where Have You Boys Been All Day?!

Monday the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde were not often to be seen.  Now part of this may have been due to the pre-teen in the house (Little Jen is 11, almost 12) who is not normally here.  Part of this might have been due to the kids' honorary cousins dropping by so that their dad could go pick up a few prescriptions for me (Abby just turned 4 and her brother Max is 8).  Part of it may have just been due to the weather.  But the gist is that I wasn't even mobbed in the morning for treats!!!  Wait!  I've got it!!  It was the three children staying up all night Sunday night!!  I'm typing this Monday night to go up Tuesday morning early Just In Case.  Oh!  And we managed to get the pool cover off with the three kids & two adults & Star supervising.  Whoot!! (much easier to exercise the new knees in the pool... and Da Boys will be supervising that as well!!)

"Ummm, mom?  Can I stay out tonight??"

"I love this star blanket... never get rid of it mom!!"

"::sigh::  It's true.  I am Emo Kitty."

"Fear not.  For I am the Ninja Kitty.
And all of your files are mine.  muahahahahaha!"

"Well, someone has to do it!!"

Aaaiiiiieeee!! Run Away! Run Away!

We have been invaded by Pernicious Fleas and my children's youngest stepsister.  We don't mind the stepsister, who will be here for a week.  She's going to crack the whip & help Jennifer... or should I say, Big Jen, since her stepsister is also named Jennifer!... clean her room!  Yaaay!  Howsoever, the Pernicious Fleas must GO!  ::sigh::  No one is happy with the Pernicious Fleas.  Oddly enough, my son has the most trouble with them.  Not only is he super sensitive and feels every one that lands on him, but they love him.  No wait, I mean they  lurrrrrrrrve him.  Given the choice between a nice juicy kitty and my son... they choose Corwyn.  No, really.  They do.  Darn old Pernicious Fleas.  Bad Pernicious Fleas!!  No Biscuit!!

In other news, since Little Jen came last night, all of the children were up until 0300.  How do I know this?  I have this strange mommy gift of not sleeping well until everyone else in the house is sleeping.  Darn ole' mommy gift.  Well, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde can still be up, but they are cats.  Cats have dispensation.  Everyone else must sleep.  It is the Mommy Rule.  ::narrows eyes::  "But mom!  How did you know I was up until 0300??"  "Special mommy powers!"  And if my special mommy powers fail me??  HA!  I can always buy information from my cats.  After all, what is the point of having a Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde if you can't use them??  muahahahahahahahahaha!!

"Can't you kids see I'm trying to sleep here??"

"I mean, really, I need my beauty sleep!!"

"They are being rather loud."

"Yeah! I'm trying to work here!"

"This is dad's fault.  No, really!!
He discovered our hidden communication system
hidden among his amps.  The link leads to the page
with your things/clothes page."
