New Section, Vet Called, or I's been busy...

I just finished putting in a new section called Cat Fancy in the shop.  It's got designs for those of us who are Cat Mommies & Daddies, who feed kitties, & those who breed sweetie-babies.  There are nine designs in the section and I hope someone would like to give some of them a home!  I particularly like how this one looks...

Brogli, Lane, Weaver, Alexander Animal Hospital called today to remind me that it's time for kitty vaccines (eeep!!!!  four times... eeeeep!!).  This is the vet for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde.  I used this vet starting in the early '90s.  They kick butt and take names.  No, really.  I'll tell you why.  Back in the early '90s I knew someone who had a slew of cats, two of whom were unspayed females.  Unfortunately she also had unneutered males in the house.  ::sigh::  She couldn't afford to have them broken (hey!  everything was working right before surgery, right?) according to her, unlike us who had ours done one at a time every time we could scrape up the money (and didn't get another one until all of the others were broken).

Anyway... one of her Queens had a litter of about two weeks and the other had just delivered.  The second one, who was her favorite, started staggering around the house like a drunkard after office hours.  She called her vet in a panic who said, "Oh she probably just got into some beer.  Call me in the morning."  ::head:desk::  While this woman may have been a college student, she did not let her cats get into things they should not!!  She called me up crying.  I immediately told her to call my vet which she did.  The on-call vet listened to what she said, asked some questions, and said, "I'll meet you at the office."  He spent all night trying to save her.  It turned out that the poor baby had kidney failure.  No one knew because all of the symptoms are ones that this particular cat exhibited during pregnancy.  She brought the litter of three kittens home and I helped her get the other Queen to adopt them.

Anyway, if you live in the area this is the vet office to use.  Of course, part of my predjudice might also be how much they fawn over my babies whenever they've had to go in, the quality of care, how happy the office dogs are, how wonderful all the staff are... oh, is that my outloud type??  ::grin::  At any rate, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde gives them Four Paws UP!  Which multiplied by four...

It's a Snake! No! It's Mister Kitten!!

All the boy wanted to do yesterday was to pet his cat.  That was all he wanted!  But as he gently stoked Mister Kitten, Mister Kitten whose ears were calm, whose tail was calm, whose body was relaxed, what should happen??  That's right, his head darted out to nip the boy.  This happens a lot.  I'm not sure what it is and we'll need to work on it.  Because the boy really really really really (no, really!) wants to love on his cat.  Actually, what he wants is a cat like the late Quigley the Demon Dust Bunny Hunter who was really really really his cat (no, really!!).

Corwyn has always been a good Cat Daddy, making sure that his babies are fed and have water.  He hasn't really been able to clean kitty litter well until this year and still has to be reminded but that's not unusual.  He loves to talk to kitties and has never yelled at them from the time he was a baby.  I don't think I recall him ever pulling a tail more than once either and he's bipolar/ADD!  But then, cats are more perceptive about that kind of then than humans are... well, most cats.  Mister Kitten needs more training.
