Gotta Question...

Could you look at Occupational Kats and give me an opinion??  I have two more graphics...

So the question is this... do I put these in?  If so, do I put in just one?  Both?  Do I change them out with another graphic?  What do you think??

Training a Cat Daddy

Last night was incredible.  I've been training Corwyn to learn Mister Kitten's body language.  He's been carefully petting and loving on Mister Kitten, talking to him all the while.  I've told him to make sure to use Mister Kitten's name but to vary what he is saying.  He needs to tell Mister Kitten what a Good Boy he is, how beautiful he is, what lovely fur he has, and to just talk to him in general.  Corwyn has been working very hard on this with some correction from me.  Okay, quite a bit of correction at times from me.

You can see by his demon eyes that Mister Kitten can be quite a handful.  But last night... oh last night!!  Corwyn and I were on my bed watching TV and I heard him crooning about what a "Good Boy, Mister Kitten!" was.  I looked over and Mister Kitten was curled up in the crook of his arm!!  Now some might think that this is just sweet and/or cute.  But the fact is that while Mister Kitten likes being petted, he usually doesn't like being held... oh wait, he almost never wants to be held!!!  And certainly not as long as Corwyn held him!!!!  Of course he's going to keep working with "his" kitty, but OH MY, what progress!!  I think we can officially call him a Cat Daddy!

Sentry Duty

Yes, we've got a couple of Da Boys in place, ready to make sure that no one sneaks up on the back yard!!  Be they human or beast, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Horde will be prepared!!  The alarm will be sounded!!  The household alerted!!  A call to claws!!  Oh wait, we just might have to take a catnap first.  Or work on our grooming.  All of this sentry duty can be exhausting, doncha know.  And the things it does to your fur!!

Hey!!  Who's supposed to be on sentry duty?!

Sentry duty?  nomnomnom
mini-poster... put it on your door or in your room

Errand Day!

Monday's do tend to be errand days.  Today I need to call the church office and find out if some things we have are needed for the pod that's being filled to go to Haiti.  (I know that the reading glasses are!!)  Then I'll need to take what is needed over there and put what isn't needed into the ever-growing Girl Scout yard sale pile.  I have found out that the sale is likely to be in May.  ::sigh::  At least we've managed to get almost everything down into the Wreck Room.  Jennifer still has to go through her clothes.  Then I've got to drop off books & a check at my therapist's office and swing by the pharmacy.  Wheeeee!

Once I'm home I'd like to do a wee bit of work around my Lilac tree if I have any energy left.  It's just a baby Lilac.  I'm crossing my fingers since I have two black thumbs.  I do have the help of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde any time I go outside to pull weeds or do the occasional limb lopping or bush trimming.  After all, they need to make sure that Momma is going to be okay.  They're also in charge of making sure that I don't overdo.  Boy do I hear about that!!!  The minute I start doing more than I should there is suddenly a Siamese Siren going off!  ::grin::  Or a Cat-in-My-Face insisting that there are Much More Important things to be done!

I'm pining for the day when a) I can figure out how to fix this darn camera! or b) I can get a cheap digital camera with a flash.  Let me show you why...

Hmmmmm, I'm here, but where did 'my kitten' go??

It was a very cute shot of Zaphy grooming Mister Kitten's head.  ::sigh::  Unfortunately there are much more important things on the list right now (besides bills!!).  Don't forget to get rabies shots everyone!!!  We've got to do that for the four Tims* compromising the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde.  The Rabies Clinic in Rutherford County, TN will be the entire month of April this year!!!  Whooot!!!  Shots for cats will be $15 (so we'll need $60 which precludes getting flea control because that's another $60... meh... maybe May).  The participating vets will have rabies clinic signs in front of their offices.  And another reminder from Da Boys for Spring...

Da Boys like reminding people to spay and neuter their pets...
the only problem is getting them to stay in the bag!!

*For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, in my family we call male cats who have been neutered Tims... because they are no longer Toms.  Likewise, Queens become Princesses'.

How Much is that Kitty in the Window??

Mister Kitten jumped up in the window the minute I lifted the shade.  The sun is shining.  The birds are singing.  For a bit he looked out the window and then he took up his usual pose.  Now Zaphoid prefers a different window pose.  For Saturday's delectation, I give you both...

Ahhhhh, I am the Master of All I Survey.
Hmmmm.  Well, at least I have sun on my back!

Yesssssssss, curl up in the warm.  This is the good life.

Beautiful Cats... and They Make Good Footwarmers!!

The love of my life has Mister Kitten on his lap purring up like a storm.  Of course, he is petting him to death and berating him, "How am I supposed to work my puzzle??"  Then he turned to me and said, "Coworker said, 'Kat has beautiful cats.' "  I smiled.  Of course part of the reason that Mister Kitten was so interested in the heart of my heart this particular morning was due to the fact that he was eating an apple.  Yes, Mister Kitten will mug humans for apple.  He used to get into people's faces and try to eat apples out of their mouths.  Soon everyone was looking at me and going, "Why doesn't he do that to you??"  I would sigh, look at them sagely and say, "Because I don't let him."

Look Mom!!  A string!!  I can has it?!?

Last night I had Star and Zaphoid for footwarmers.  Then Thomas came up and curled up beside me while Mister Kitten draped himself across my calves.  Soooooo sweet!!  I just wished it had worked!  I'm afraid I didn't get a wink of real sleep last night.  I just dozed all night.  Oddly enough, I don't feel very tired right now, but just wait until later!  The kids go to their father's house today where they will celebrate Corwyn's birthday with that side of the family.  It will be interesting to see what kind of loot he comes home with!

I need to call the vet to find out when the rabies clinic is going to be held.  It's the only way that I can afford to get da boys their shots.  Getting their rabies shots is EXTREMELY important and I feel that is true even if a cat is purely an indoor cat.  I wish I could afford to go ahead & get flea stuff from the doc but alas, that's out of the budget for right now.  I will NOT buy the OTC stuff because it is HIGHLY dangerous.  Bad, yuck,  ick, phoohy!  Seriously, it can kill your kitty!!  Dooooo noooooot uuuuuuuuuuse!!!  Before I ever heard anything about it I had a kitty start to get sick.  I immediately took the collar off of the cat, and off of the other cats, and then called the vet.  The vet confirmed the danger of the collars.  Okay, getting off my soapbox now.

When I get the shirt for this one, this is the shirt I'm gonna get!!  Oh yeah, momma!!!

Mmmmmm.... Cake! Now Why Won't the Camera Work??

Corwyn's cake... darrrrrrrrk chocolate!!  Have some!

and wearing on of his favorite shirts!

and here is Zaphy in the window this morning

Alas this is the best I can do with my camera.  ::sigh::  You can't see anything in the screen, the flash no longer works, and I'm not sure how to fix it.  At least I was able to get pictures of the birthday boy!!  I guess I'm just going to have to try to get pictures of da boys outside!!!
Corwyn is worth two days of blogging... he's a pretty good teenager!!

Tagged!!!

Amy & the House of Cats tagged me for the photo tag game.  In case you forgot, the rules are to post the 10th picture from the first picture folder, explain the story behind it, and then tag 5 more blogs!

This is Mister Kitten on the bed.  He likes to pose.  You can see just the barest bit of Thomas in the lower right hand side.  Mister Kitten likes to sit with his tail tucked up underneath him... sitting on it.  It's interesting in this picture how his eyes look to be the same color as his fur.  He's a pretty boy.

this is the 10th picture in the first folder in CafePress... it's a BumperSnicker... ::grin::

And now....
I tag Kea at Fuzzy Tales!
Missy, KC, & Bear?  You's tagged!
Samantha & Clementine is tagged too!
And last but not least... Kazoku Neko... tag, you're it!!

Note to self...

I've gotten the dark shirt issue done down to Bipolar Countdown E (next do F)  and up from Ya Think? (next do Now Would I Lie to You?).  Now it's time to get ready to go get cards from Hallmark and a dark chocolate cake along with vanilla ice cream.  mmmmmmmmmmm

Happy Purrday to My Son Corwyn!!

Fourteen years ago today (not quite an hour from now after six days of labor) my son Corwyn was born.  He has been raised with cats.  He learned very quickly that you Do Not Pull Tails.  Right now Corwyn is on my bed with Thomas' head laying on him.  As soon as Corwyn came home from the hospital we put him in the cradle that has been in my family for several centuries.  Immediately the late Christopher T. Cat took up his duties as Baby Guard Cat (he had done this with Jennifer as well) and after sniffing Corwyn to ensure he had his scent, he settled down at the end of the cradle.  He regally permitted the other cats to come "sniff the young Princeling" but if their head went too close to the edge of the cradle he would rise up and bop! them!!

Once Corwyn was out of the crib and starting to crawl he gained "his cat", Quigley the Demon Dust Bunny Hunter.  They were friends until the day that Quiggles passed away two years ago.  As you can see, they were the best of buds and Quigley was puddy in Corwyn's hands... and vice versa!!

A boy and his cat.

It took awhile for Corwyn to get over the loss of his very best friend.  It also took some time for him to find another cat.  Dale isn't ready to get another cat.  Four is more than plenty for him and for a time it seemed that the other members of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde had already bonded to certain humans.  But wait!!  But wait!!  Mister Kitten, who had always been a wee bit stand-offish (probably due to the fact that his 'mom' had gone immediately off to college and then moved out), began warming up to Corwyn.  AHA!!  And we noticed that Mister Kitten could usually be found sleeping on Corwyn's bed.  Corwyn just told me that one of the drawers in his dresser came out (and he can't get it back in), so Mister Kitten is sleeping there!!).  Gee, you think Corwyn may have found his new cat??

The boy begins the "poke" game with Mister Kitten.

This is the shirt that Corwyn got for his birthday!!  ::grin::

Cat Crazies!!

Yesterday was Cat Crazy day.  Normally we have Cat Crazies one at a time.  You know, those Cat Crazies when your fur babies suddenly race around the house, chasing Things You Can Not See, jumping around, pouncing for no reason, doing back flips, and then stopping to lick themselves and look up at you like everything is perfectly normal.  ::snort::  In our house, yesterday was Cat Crazy Day.  This means that not one, not two, not three... but four... yes, four cats had the Cat Crazies!!!  Fortunately for us this wasn't all at one time.  Well, at least not for long.  Thank Goodness they've all been pretty well trained to watch out for Mom!!!  Having bad knees etc. a crazed cat racing under my legs could make me fall and this would Not be a Good Thing.

We're used to Mister Kitten and Star having the Cat Crazies.  This is normal around here.  After all, they're the 'babies', even if Mister Kitten is three and Star is ~eight-nine.  However,  yesterday they were joined by Thomas!!  Thomas, being the dominant cat in the pride rarely gets into the act.  But then... then... yes then!  Zaphoid Beeblebrox.  Zaphoid Beeblebrox aka Emo Kitty got the Cat Crazies.  Zaphy??  Zaphy??  Cat Crazies?!?  Has the world come to an end?  The twins really surprised us with that, especially since they are now about 12-13.  ::shakes head::

I didn't do it!!  It was my Evile Twin!!

In other news, my husband's camera is down as well.  ::sigh::  We've got rabies shots coming up as well as bills to pay.  meh.  So there's not telling when I'll have another camera to work with, even one of the cheapy ones from the grocery.  I found out this morning that the wife of a friend of ours is going into surgery to have her breast removed (stage 2 or 3 cancer).  d*mn.  I'm going through things in the house trying to "Clean Sweep/House" and put the things in my daughter's Girl Scout troop garage sale.  If my daughter can manage to get her grades up ::glares at daughter:: then she can go with the troop to Savannah this summer to visit Juliette Low's birthplace.  ::sigh::  I hope she can pull it off.  I'd like to be able to make more brochures and business cards for the shop but I just can't afford to do it right now.  Other things come first.  Food for us and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde (Iams... anything else makes them sick, this is a Bad Thing!), meds for us & rabies shots for them, etcetera etcetera etcetera  and everyone else is in the same boat.  I pray for everyone each night.  Okay, I'm getting maudlin... I'm going to put up a breast cancer graphic from the shop in honor of my friend's wife.  EDIT:  She had the surgery on Friday at Vanderbilt and is home recovering.

Mom, Why Is It Cold Again??

It's a lovely Spring day in Tennessee.  No, take that back.  The day before yesterday was a lovely Spring day in Tennessee!!  Yesterday it was rainy and turned cold.  Today it's in the 30's.  So while the flowers and trees are blooming and the kitty cats are wanting to frolic again in the warm air... well, it's turned cold again.  My son turns 14 on Wednesday and I recall the day he was born.  On the 18th I went into labor.  It was snowing.  In March in Tennessee it can well snow.  The day after being 65.  Actually, that's been known to occur in April as well.  Which is why the pools don't open until Memorial Day.

This also explains why my side of the bed had the heat turned on and most of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde spent the night on my side.  Now when I get up I have the habit of opening the shade of the window where the cat window perch resides.  It used to be in the kitchen but we only have one and they prefer the bedroom over all the other rooms.  They'd been avoiding it for awhile, cycling out toys and things as cats do (well except for their cat tree which is by the improvised cat window door).  But recently Zaphoid and Mister Kitten have decided that it is Rather a Good Thing.  Mister Kitten is on it now and he was looking pensively outside, feeling the window as if gauging the temperature.  He was sooooo cute.  Now he's napping with his arm hanging off of the perch.  Which reminds me, once I get a camera working again, I'll get a picture of Mister Kitten and Zaphoid hanging out together on the top level of the cat tree.  They are up there all the time, looking adorable!!

Mister Kitten chilling on the bed.
I linked this one to the infant bodysuit... it's just too cute!!
But there are all of the other products as well,
I had a hard time deciding, the teddy bear was
in the running as well, and the clock and and and

Why Are You All Looking At Me??

I woke up this morning, brushed my teeth, and came back into the bedroom to find all of the cats on the bed looking at me.  "Hey Mom.  We neeeeeeeeed something."  "You've already had treats."  "But we neeeeeeed something!!"  "You've already had treats."  "Mooooooooom!!"  "Boys."  "Meeeee-ooooom!!"   ::rolls eyes and heads to kitchen::  I am immediately followed by a cat parade of Thomas and Zaphoid.  Mister Kitten and StarWalker stayed in the bedroom doorway for a bit to play dominance games.  "See Mom!!  The dishes have only crumbs!!  We are going to starrrrrve to death!!  No, really!!  We's skin and bones!!"  ::sigh::  "Alright boys, breakfast is coming."  And the Big Bowl gets opened.  Mister Kitten teleports all sixteen pounds into the kitchen so as not to starve to death.

Making sure we don't starve to death!

After eating, Thomas and Mister Kitten had to go outside to check on the weather.  They then had to go back inside to let everyone know that it was raining and that the Changing of the Cat Guard would have to wait until the weather cleared up.

We would keep notes about when we goes
in and out but we can't write.  Mom??  Mom??
Could you do that for us?  Meee-ooom??

Brush Me! Brush Me!!

Most of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde could take or leave getting brushed.  There is one exception, Zaphoid Beeblebrox, adores being brushed and insists upon being brushed at least once a day.  This is because he has a thick double layer of fur.  His dense undercoat requires that he have regular brushing and he is not quiet about letting us know about it.  The funny thing is that he'll plop down on the bed (his preferred spot to be groomed) and then protest when you flip him to get the other side... that is until you start brushing it!!

Zaphy loves our bed and spends a great amount of time here, particularly on my husband's side of the bed.  He prefers the pillows.  Awwwwwwww!!!

Okay Thomas! I'm Stopping!!!

I've been working from the "bottom up" so to speak in the shop trying to get out the black t-shirts, sweatshirts etc.  There were a number of places where I didn't have to do anything but I was getting pretty tired and not noticing it.  Harumph!!  "Oh Noes!!  Mom!  Me-om!!  Timmy's in the well!!"  What?  There is food in the bowls.  There are no cats wanting out.  There are no cats wanting in.  "But Mooooooom!!!!!  Meeeeeee-ooooooooom!! [headbutts] Timmy is really really really in the well this time!!"

After a number of headbutts I started to get the picture.  Thomas felt that I had worked long enough on the website and needed to rest.  Yes, Thomas!  I'm stopping!!  He's such a taskmaster!!

I think that I neeeeed this mousepad...

I just wish that the silly thing would show the front of the mugs on the bottom!  Geez Louise!!

I'm still gonna diiiiie but...

I just added the product dropdown to the store sooOOOoo, not doing the redo.  But I still need to do a lot of work in the shop, cleaning up things.  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!  I've got everyone but Zaphoid sleeping on the bed right now.  So, back to the coalmines... while my babies tempt me to join them!

And another thing...

My camera is kaputen!!  My daughter took it to Orlando on her Choir trip and after I downloaded all of the pictures from it, it now shows just a gray screen and doesn't even show up on the computer!  ::sigh::  Well, off to "work"!

Mom! Me-om!! Timmy's in the Well!!

Thomas has this habit of telling us "Timmy's in the well!  Hey!  Hey!  Come quick!  Come quick!!  No, really!!  Timmy's in the well!!"  Usually this means that another member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde needs to go outside or to come inside (I'm still not sure how he does this!).  Or it means that the bottom of one or more of the bowls is showing.  "Oh noes!!  Mom!  Me-om!!  Timmy's in the well!!  Quick, quick!  Open up the Big Bowl!!"  Now yesterday he did the latter about three times.  He only approached to taste the food once.  The other two times he was doing it for another cat.  Because, as you can see in the picture, Da Boys are just starving to death!!  Oh my!!  If the Big Bowl isn't opened they just might faint on the spot!!

This is, indeed, the order in which Da Boys usually eat.  As you might expect, it's the order of the pride, Thomas, Mister Kitten, Zaphoid, and Star.  This is a site you only see once a day.  Otherwise it's only a nibble here and there.  But the bottom of the bowls must not show least the Teenage Mutant Ninja Horde Starve!!

points to the large pet bowl... I'm about to go in and change the store
about so that the sections are by products... hopefully this won't change the link!!

Sleep Duty... Changing of the Cat Guard!!

I am a side sleeper and I use two pillows on my side.  One is a body pillow placed between my knees and a small pillow which I put at the top of the body pillow that I rest my arm on.  I always sleep best when there is a cat tucked up with me on the smaller pillow.  My preference is Star.  Star's preference is that I am facing away from my husband.  I think it's a combination of my husband snoring and the fact that he moves around a lot.  Star is a wee bit skittish.  If I'm by myself, he'll stay with me as I turn over, slipping with his Ninja Skills from one side to the next.

I usually turn at least once during the night because of the arthritis and the chronic myofascial pain in my legs & ankles.  Some nights I'll turn over three or four times.  Last night was a six night turn.  Twice I had no cat.  ::sniff sniff::  I started with Star.  Then Mister Kitten showed up.  After that, Zaphoid took a turn followed by Thomas.  This doesn't happen very often.  It reminded me very strongly of the Changing of the Cat Guard that I'll often get in the Spring, Summer, and Fall when the front door becomes a revolving door!  That's why I created this graphic:

link to the organic women's fitted T - it only comes in natural color

In other news, I've got everyone but Thomas on the bed with me.  Thomas has taken his normal role of Aloof Explorer back up again.  ::rolls eyes::  It's Spring and the weather is getting better.  This means birds and field mice.  We have a large hay field behind our house.  The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde truly appreciates this.  I don't remember if I've told this story before but it's one that sticks in my mind...  Warning!  Warning!  Danger Will Robinson!!  This story contains cats & a field mouse!

My husband and I walked outside one day and noticed that Thomas, Zaphoid, and the late Quigley the Demon Dust Bunny Hunter were sitting in an equilateral triangle.  Odd.  We quietly went a wee bit closer.  Oh my!!  Because they were playing Mouse in the Middle.  Yes, there was a field mouse in the middle of the triangle.  It would start to dash one way only to realize that there was a cat in it's way... back to the center!!  Turning, it would run another way... oops!!  Another cat guards the escape route!  Swiftly back to the middle only to turn and go the last way out.  No!  No!!  Yet another cat!!  (My husband called them Tres Gatos Hombres.  ::snicker:: )

We must have watched this go on a good five minutes.  Da boys just hung out amused while the field mouse got more and more nervous.  Unfortunately we had to leave so we didn't see how long they played with this poor mousie.  But it reminded me of StarWatcher, who was the last black cat I had before StarWalker (it's not my fault!  you know cats... they picked their names!).  At my old house there was a small spring in the back.  This small spring was the habitat of snakes.  StarWatcher loved to play with snakes.  He would bring them up to the driveway, bat them around & flip them into the air.  That is until I came up and said, "StarWatcher!  Put that back where you found it.  Right this minute!!"  He would sigh, pick up the snake and go put it back.

Router & Sale & Bouncing... Oh MY!

First of all, Star and I confirmed with our cable guy this morning (it was a guy who answered the phone ergo...) that the router was on the UPS truck.  Then we waited.  Normally the truck hits here mid-morning.  Nooooo truck.  But that was okay.  Star and I just kept going outside with a book every hour and a half and sitting for a bit watching the pot to see if it would boil.  ::sigh::  Nooooo truck.  My kids came home.  My daughter scared Mister Kitten and my son found him hiding under my bed.  Well, that's not entirely true since I have a waterbed.  He was just under the quilt hanging over the side... but still.  So I suggested that Corwyn tempt all of the cats to his room with TREATS! while my daughter did her homework.  Still noooooooo truck.

Finally my daughter had finished all but one project and went to her room to take a nap (hey!  it's tiring being a Junior!).  By this time it was 17:30 (that's 5:30 to Thomas who just tried to help again).  Riiiiiiiiiing.  YES!  The doorbell!!  Roooouuuuuuuttttttttteeeeeerrrrrrrr!!  Oh, and a package for Jennifer... who wouldn't wake up to open it.  But that was okay, Star and I went ahead and installed the router.  Whoot!!  And while we were doing that we noticed something... I actually sold something this month!  Hey!  $2.40!!  Okay, it's not much but it's something.  I needed that.  Not the $2.40 because I won't actually see it, it'll go towards the price of the site (about $6 a month) but just having made a sale.  I'd like to get to the point where I could do things like oh, say, get greenies for da boys, extras for the kids (yearbooks are up to $70!  eeep!), and such.

This is what they got, and one was sold last month too!
The women's dark t-shirt in violet!

Da boys have decided that tonight is Bouncy Night!!  First Star, after he discovered that I still wouldn't let him walk all over the laptop keyboard (and that there was no place to sit on top of it either), took off bouncing on top of any cat within pouncing distance.  Then Mister Kitten had to get in on the game because, well, anything Star can do Mister Kitten thinks he can do better... and then gets proven wrong, but that's another story!  But the shocking incident of the evening was when Thomas and Zaphoid joined in!!  Zaphy bounced right off the bed but Thomas did manage to maintain his dignity and restrained himself in time to plop back down and return to sleeping.

And It's Star for the Pin!

Last night Star and Mister Kitten were playing wrestling.  One would think that Mister Kitten would come out on top since he's the larger of the two.  However Star is the master wrestler!  It was Star for the pin three out of three.  Once on the bed.  Once on the bedroom floor.  And once in the hall.  Then it was time to play chase each other up and down the hall!!

Thomas and Zaphoid, being Senior Cats, disdain these types of antics.  They would rather hang out on the bed, on the cat tree, or roll on the driveway.  In fact, they are the masters of rolling on the driveway.  Thomas, being the eldest cat of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde, takes the field with rolling on the driveway.  Almost any time you come upon him when walking on the driveway he will stop walking and give you one of his cute rolls.  He is an expert is making you go "awwwwwww!"  I think Zaphoid is much more concerned with just scratching his back.

Now Star has the habit of greeting you when you pull into the driveway.  In fact, he gets quite upset if he doesn't manage to greet you.  You must stop and give him pettings, telling him what a beautiful boy he is as well.  The odd thing is, that lately he has been mugging everyone for pettings.  Using his Ninja Skills, he captures you and forces you with incredible cuteness until you love on him.  Mister Kitten, on the other hand, has taken up the role of Aloof Cat for the nonce.  The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde love to keep us jumping!!

This links to the mousepad... but I have the T-shirt!  ::weg::

No Thomas, You Have to Wait...

When it's treat time every cat in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde knows.  Now Thomas is the dominant cat in the pride.  So naturally he thinks that a) he should get treats first and b) he should mug me.  I find this behavior unacceptable because a) it's not always his turn to get treats first and b) he needs to learn not to put his face in my face when it's treat time.  Thus, I have been teaching Thomas not to do this.  How, you ask?  muahahahahahahahahahaha!

When each of da boys comes up to get treats, if they get too close, they get one of two commands.  Either, "sit" or "wait".  If Thomas doesn't "wait" then a) he gets shoved back and his nose tapped and b) he has to wait until everyone else gets treats.  Thomas doesn't like this.  Too bad, so sad.  Should it happen that Thomas is the only cat in the room and he is getting treats he still gets the "wait" command.  I also use "back" or "sit".  Da boys are quite smart and 'speak' quite a bit of English.

For instance, if they start yelling at us, we look at them and say, "show me".  They immediately go either to their food bowls, to the door, or wrap themselves around our legs (the latter meaning "pick me up neow and love on me!!"  Thus Thomas is getting "wait" when he's mugging me for treats.  He's starting to get the picture.  No treats unless you behave.  Everyone else has already caught on.  Mister Stubborn may take awhile.

Maybe I should switch to German.  No one else in the family uses it but I have a tendency to shake my finger at da boys and say "tu das nicht!"  It's amazing how well they understand me when I talk to them in German!  I don't remember much of it even though I minored in it in college (and two & a half years in high school!) but I have enough to let them know what for!!

BTW I'm still waiting for the router!  And I had to go buy a coaxial cable yesterday because a mysterious person managed to tear apart the one connecting my modem to my cable.  ::narrows eyes::  The Shadow knows who did it.

large mug... once I get the laptop back online I'm thinking about changing the shop
around so that the mugs & such are in one section, shirts in another, etc.
but I'll need names for the sections... suggestions??

Teenage Mutant Ninja Horde have new treats.... router still kaputen!

The router is still kaputen.  I’ve got one coming from Comcast.  Good thing I called this morning to see if my dearest husband could pick one up from the local office!  The order hadn’t processed!  For $29.95 I could have it overnighted but we can’t afford that right now.  meh  This means 4-5 business days before we have a new router and I have internet access on the laptop in the bedroom.  ::sigh::  Da boys were happy last night because Corwyn and I stopped at Krogers and bought them treats.  Yay!  Two different flavors, both crunchy, as we discovered that they much prefer that type.  I wish that we could have gone to the pet store or the vet’s office and bought Greenies but until our income goes up that’s not going to happen.

Of course, this meant that last night and this morning we were mugged.  ::grin::  The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde knows that morning & bedtime are treat time!  Corwyn insists that he should give Mister Kitten his treats.  I think that this is a Good Idea since it helps reinforce the idea in Mister Kitten’s head that Corwyn is His Boy.  ::grin::  Mister Kitten spends a great deal of time sleeping on Corwyn’s bed.

Mister Kitten is helping enforce the law.  No, really!!
See!  See!  You must have a sleeping cat!

I use cloth bags all the time.  I probably have twenty or more
in my car of various shapes, sizes, colors, & designs.
I really like how my cats come out on the CafePress bags.
heh heh heh  Now if I could just afford to get them all!

Eeeep!! The Router is Tick!

Now the router is sick which means that I can't use the laptop.  StarWalker BitCat the ComputerKitty worked diligently with me yesterday trying to get it back up but to no avail.  We have a new one coming from our local cable provider but it's going to be a few days until that happens.  ::meow!::  Until then, no kitty pictures!  And no new ones because Jennifer took off this morning at waaaay too early an hour (even the cats thought so!) to go on a choir trip to Orlando, FL!!  At the last minute I asked her if she had a camera, "No.", so I herocially parted with mine (she's on pain of death to return it safely!) and let her know that she can eliminate the current kitty pictures on it if she absolutely has to do it!

I just hope that the router issue wasn't sabatoge.  Star seemed just a wee bit enthusiastic about me being in the office.  He was trilling like no tomorrow, weaving in and out of my feet and getting into my lap to help. hmmmmmmm

large coffee mug... I definately need more coffee!!

Meh... or the Feeder of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Horde is tick...

"Tick??  Tick??  Momma, tick?!?!" trills Star, "I'd better go let everyone know!  Dad!  Dad!!  Let me out quick, quick!!"  "Star?  What do you want?  I'm on the phone?  Out?" Dale lets Star out.  This leaves the bed empty.  Mean ole' Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde.  You'd think they'd remember who just filled up The Big Bowl.  Well, maybe once Thomas finds out.  He was out catting about all last night.
