First There Was This Party...

"I loved everycat who came to celebrate my birthday!!!  Thank you all soooo much!  I hope that you enjoyed the water heater breaking down so that we had water to sploosh around in and put kitty paw prints all over the house!!  Wheeeeeeeeeee!!"

"We did have some trouble cleaning up afterwards because the dishwasher broke down.  I think it was my Arch-Nemesis.  Even if we are becoming more friends like and I hard hiss at him more than three times a day.  The Feeders got a new hot water heater put in on Monday.  Why are they ignoring us for this stuff???"

"Okay!  Who took the picture of me after I had all that catnip??"

"I had a good time but now I'm not feeling so good.  Mom took me to the vet yesterday.  I had been doing fine and then Wednesday I just laid around all day... yeah, yeah, I know, I know, I do that all the time but mom said I was doing it differently.  So she checked on me latter when I was still doing it and I felt hot.  DO YOU KNOW WHAT SHE DID????  The shock!!  The horror!!  Then she said I had a fever of 105.1 and she called the vet.  He said to give me a baby aspirin and bring him in the morning.  So the next morning we went in... mom, Corwyn and me.  More indignities!!  Harrumph!!  My bloods were good and the vet said he thought I had an upper respiratory infection.  He gave me antibiotic liquids (ICK!) and I can't see anyone but my feeders until I'm looking healthier.  Darn ole' discharge."

Between bills for car, house, Jen being in the hospital & Knives we're... short.  Prayers for Knives & Jen and us finding what we need to make through would be greatly appreciated.

Mom & Jennifer

"We all need some purrs & prayers right now."

 "Especially Mom & Jen."

"We're doing our best to help mom feel better!"

My pain level is five out of five cats today.  I couldn't wear my cpap Friday night because I was in so much pain & so stressed out.  I managed to do it last night when I finally got to sleep about 0200ish.  I woke up with my left leg all knotted up.  It still hurts.  My whole left side feels like... crapdoodles.  Sorry, no other way to really put that.  Jennifer went berserk on Thursday for three hours and finally did a good amount of cleaning even though she screamed for three hours at the top of her lungs that the netbook was hers and I had no right to take it away from her.

On Friday she got onto the main CPU in my office, which I no longer can use because of my pain levels so it only gets used by Corwyn & Jennifer.  I told her to get off & deal with 'the clothes'.  There were two baskets in the office that needed sorting to go to Plato's Closet (consignment shop that will straight out buy your clothes) and unbeknownst to me, a basket of clean clothes in her room.  She stomped off to get that basket, which surprised me and freaked her out when I mentioned it.  Then she shut the office door and proceeded to read fanfic while folding clothes.  Fifteen minutes later I checked on her and she had folded maybe as many as 15 items (some of which were underwear).  I told her that she should not be on the computer while folding clothes and that if she needed to do so she could fold clothes in my bedroom (where there is a tv but she would also be with me.  Then I said that I would put on the timer for 30 minutes and I expected her to have the clothes done in that time.  I actually gave her somewhere between 10-20 minutes more.  There were still about 4" of clothing left unfolded in the basket and I said that the computer would have to be turned off.

She screamed.  The upshot of it was that two hours later, she had bitten (or tried to bite) me, beaten on me, kicked me, pulled the door off of the cpu section of the desk (I hadn't realized before then that she'd pulled off most of the front of the desk and eaten it), screamed the whole time and then finally stomped off to her room.  I called her psychiatrist's on call.  I was called back and the word was, "Get her to the closest ER for evaluation, do not pass go, do not collect $200."  At the ER it was determined she needed inpatient and after 4 hours she was taken by ambulance up to Nashvagas.  (Well, technically it was Mad'son.  No, really... if you're ever seen them drive...).  We got back to Smurfreesboro about midnight?  0100??  It was late, I had a migraine & my pain levels were a 10.  With meds.  Purrs, prayers, candles, incense, good thoughts etcetera greatly appreciated.

How Audrey Is Doing Today

"I'm feeling better this morning but I didn't want to write until after mean ole' mommy had given me my meds and taken my temperature.  My temperature is down to 102.8!  I'm purring and wanting mom and everyone to pet and love on me and boy oh boy do I want OUT of the bedroom!!  But mean ole' mommy won't let me out until I use the kitty litter.  Mean ole' mommy!!  She's about to force me to drink water!!  She knows I drank some out of the toilet (and daddy went ick ick ick!!) but she hasn't seen me drink out of the bowl.  She's going to bring in one of the fountains to see if that helps encourage me."

"I want to thank everycat and their Feeders who sent me purrs and prayers!!  I and my Feeders think that's why I got to feeling better SO quickly.  Trust me, it had nothing to do with those shots that Dr. Alexander made me take!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Mom put this fountain into her bathroom, so I had real water!!
I drank tons and tons and tons!!"

Star Will Go Back to the Vet Monday - UPDATE - mom will go pick up meds for me

"I went outside last night.  Mom wasn't happy with me."

"She was even more unhappy when I came up to go inside."

"The fur on my head was wet & sticking up.  When mom checked there were two sores on it.  Mean ole' mommy cleaned me up & dusted me with goldenseal powder.  Mean ole' mommy!!  She's making everycat be even more vigilant about keeping me in and is going to take me back to the vet tomorrow rather than call them today since I'm being my usual self.  Our vets are good about coming in when we need them even when their office is closed but it's Easter and unless I start feeling worse today mom will let me wait."

"So if my furfriends could send me a few purrs
& their Feeders some prayers I'd appreciate it."

PS The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde & their Feeders would like to wish everycat & their Feeders (and our woofie friends too)
HAPPY EASTER!!

PPS because Star will have to go back to the vet, he could use a green paper or two if you can spare it to help pay for his vet bill.  We have a dedicated paypal account for the Horde and a button on the left hand side of our blog.  And of course, all of the profits from our shop also go to the care, feeding & vet bills of the Horde.

UPDATE:  Star finally came down from Jennifer's room to eat some lunch which gave us a chance to get a good look at how his head is doing.  Now I'm seriously wondering if I should wait until tomorrow or not.

Stuff & Stuff

"The weather is being pretty & I love going outside with mom."

"I'm getting very good going out on my leash & coming back in.
Our mom hasn't been feeling very good.  She's been having
headaches & sleeping trouble. Tomorrow I hope to show you
a picture of our lilac bush.  (One shows Zaphy spraying it!!)"
"Someone bought something from our store again!
This is a Good Thing™ because it's time for our
Rabies shots & Pernicious Flea treatments.  boo!"

"This is the graphic that someone got.
They bought the ceramic traveling cup!"

"We have two requests for purrs & prayers.  The first is for Sweet Praline & her mom.  Sweet Praline isn't eating & may be crossing the Bridge soon which makes us all sad.  The second is for Chrystal & her new cathouse!  Please go to her blog & help fund the kitties and find Forever Homes for the kitties in the cathouses!!  (We like Handsome because he looks like Audrey & Star but mean ole' mom says that five cats in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde is enough for now.  Mean ole' mommy!!"

"The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde needs YOU!!  Yes, YOU!  Your Feeders!  Your Furfriends!!  (even the woofies)
Pass this message everywhere you can!!
GO GO GO GO GO!!!  This is a CATNIP ALERT!!"

The Bad and the Good and the Oh My!

First the bad so we can get it out of the way and then feel better by looking at pictures of sweet babies.  This message was passed on from on of the blogs I read regularly (I actually read a lot but don't have the energy to reply but we purr & pray for everycat that needs it!).  It seems that Caboodle Ranch, a no-kill home for kitties with no other place to go may have become a hoarding situation.  Here is some more information about it.  I don't have absolute proof, but if anyone does, please please let me know!  This is very sad and we are purring & praying for the sweet cats there.

For the good.  Well, there's a bit of bad.  Somehow we can't find Audrey's harness & leash!!  Fortunately she has a backup harness and I was able to cobble up something to use as a leash.  She doesn't like this harness as much since it's an H as opposed to a Figure 8 which is what most cats prefer.  I hope we find it!!

"Hey mom!!  I'm ready to go ou-ut!!
What do you mean I need my leash??"

"Mmmmmm, open window... mmmmmmm"

"So-oo what are you guys doing to my bathroom??"

"Okay Audrey, mom & dad are trying to get the house in shape so they can have the house appraised so they can get the house refinanced and pay off some stuff.  That'll mean more treats." - Star

"More treats!  More treats!!" - Knives & Audrey

"Now if mom could just afford a cleaning team.  I have no idea
why she keeps complaining about me spraying everywhere.
It was not me.  No, really!!" - Thomas

::yawn:: "I'll help by taking a nap.
I'm sure that will be very very helpful." - Zaphy

It's Friday Night...

The kids have gone to their dad's house, my husband is working on the house, I've already had my afternoon nap with help from Zaphoid & Knives (who ran off Audrey) and I'm about to get off of the computer.

"Three new graphics being considered for Our Shop.  Do let us know if you'd like to have these up as well as the ones mom draws!"

A friend of mine has just lost her father.  She's had to spend a great deal in gas & such traveling back and forth from her home to her parents' house and the hospital.  In addition to this she has health issues & prescriptions to fill.  She's looking for a short-term loan if anyone has a wee bit of money, even just a few dollars, she can pay it back.  If you don't, please send her purrs & prayers etcetera.  This has been very stressful for her!!  Her service dog & cat are helping but the more purrs & prayers (and grrrrs!) she gets the better!!

Did YOU Put It Somewhere Zaphy??

 "Mom's Imitrex self-injector is missing."

"As you can see, I am totally innocent of everything!!"

"I have NO idea how those treats went missing!!  No, really!!!"

"BTW  Mom's godson's wife let mommy know that their
baby daughter is home from the hospital!!  YAY!!
Thanks to everyone for their purrs & prayers!!
The love of Star's life, Admiral, is doing better
but could still use purrs & prayers!"

"This is mommy.  I wonder if her kittens can find her self-injector now that they're home from their dad's house?  Mommy used me for the cat here because I'm soooOOOooo Emo.  I'm not sure how that makes sense but mommy said it did."  ::goes back to sleep::

Purrs & Prayers & Calendars...

"We got a phone call from mom's friend Julie on New Year's Day.  She told us that baby Scarlett (her grandbaby, the daughter of mom's godson & his wife) had gone to the pediatric ER.  Scarlett is still in the PICU where they are monitoring her for seizures.  They said she has a virus but haven't said anything else yet.  Scarlett is six months old and they have put her on topomax and some other medication.  Purrs & prayers would be appreciated."

"We are working on that & dad's left hand.  Daddy had
surgery for carpel tunnel syndrome on December 17th."

"We are also purring & napping for my sweet Admiral (she's
doing better).  So, of course, I need lots and lots of treats to
keep my strength up.  No Thomas, you can't have my treats!!"

"Mom got this calendar from our shop.  Corwyn & Jennifer got the other calendar and went through it counting to see how many pictures there were of Zaphoid & Mister Kitten.  Stuff will be on sale a little longer since mom isn't up to repricing it yet!"

Clister's Accident Report by StarWalker BitCat the ComputerKitty

"I would like to set the record straight.  Unlike my brother Zaphy, I know how to spell Clister's name.  Dad has had Clister since Clister was born in 1973 and she's named after one of his grandmothers."

"Mom took a close-up of the damage that happened.  We think that Clister fell down.  She doesn't have a hard case or a stand."

"This is the new bridge that dad had just gotten for
Clister as an early Christmas present because
he was starting to play her more often at gigs."

"We are all purring & praying that Clister can be fixed.
Daddy is very sad about Clister being broken.
He has had Clister since she was borned.
She is a 3/4 upright bass."

Charlotte's Mom Says Thanks...

"My mom got an email from Charlotte's mom
this morning when she turned on the 'puter"
Thank you! I received your money [Lee County Clowder was whose donation this was attached to] and your good wishes for her. She is still with us. She drank a little water yesterday and moved to a different "cave" in the house. It's so hard to watch her going through this, she's been with us for so long that it's hard to think about her not being here.  You are nice to send this to help.  Best wishes to you and yours.

Charlotte Update...

"Mom has heard from Charlotte's Mom.  This is the email she sent..."
Yes I do[PayPal account]. It is listed under this email addy[turnia1@yahoo.com] and the name  julie hanes all lower case.
Charlotte is still here, still not drinking or eating that we can tell. The other cats are keeping watch over her (Dusty is stoopid but still sweet and a good 'healer kitty'). They stay near her. She is resting on a soft sleeping bag in a corner of the living room. Her breathing is fast (about 6X what the other cats' breathing rate is). She doesn't want to be touched or held. She'll put up with it for a few minutes then jump down and go back to her spot.  She's 17-18 years old now, and has tumors. I don't know if she caught pneumonia when Sean came down with it. Or a cold when Scarlett got one. Or if it's simply time.  For all I know she may pull through this ok. But she's gotten so scrawny and WASTED over the past year or two. And she has "that look" in her eyes right now. Kinda distant and unfocused. And the rasping of her breath is louder than her purr. :(  Her fur looks funny/different too, reminds me of a cat I had once who went in to insulin shock. Her fur looks kinda like that. We are (sorta) prepared to lose her, but sad about it.  I know you understand. She's been with us a long time. I just hope she's not hurting, she doesn't seem to be in great pain, just sick and possibly dying pain. ya know?
hugs
