Happy Gotcha Day Audrey!!!

Once upon a time there was a little kitten named Sparkles.  She lived in Chrystal's Cat House with her brother.  Sparkles was happy playing with toys and her brother and the other cats.  But one day someone wanted to adopt her brother.  Having her brother find a Forever Home was a good thing but the Feeder who wanted him could not take her as well.  This made Sparkles very sad.  She began to hiss at the other kitties in the cat house.  She still loved to play with Feeders and love on them but she couldn't be with other kitties and Chrystal couldn't find her a Forever Home because everyone wanted a kitty that was good with other cats.  So Chrystal put out a plea for someone who would be willing to give this poor unhappy a Forever Home.

It just so happened that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde and their Feeders had been enjoying the picture of Sparkles because she looked just like StarWalker BitCat the ComputerKitty (except she was smaller and a girl).  Now the mom of the TMNKH has a looooong experience with adjusting new cats to the Horde (39 years).  She talked to dad.  They talked about it for awhile and then talked to the younger feeders.  Everybody agreed that Sparkles absolutely needed to become the newest member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde!!  So mom emailed Chrystal.  Chrystal was SO excited!!  She couldn't believe that someone wanted to give Sparkles a Forever Home.  Mom told her that even if it took a year it wasn't a problem.

We met Chrystal at the border of Tennessee and Kentucky.  We were all so excited!!  We couldn't afford to give her a box of toys or food so we gave her all of the coupons we could for food (human and four foot!!) and cleaning supplies etcetera.  It was amazing when we met her.  But meeting our wonderful baby girl was the best.  It was obvious that Star was her twin brother of another mother!  On the way home it was decided.  Sparkles became Lady Audrey Nova StarWatcher.  She did so well on the ride home!!  Everyone got a chance to hold her.

woofies can come too) to my Gotcha Day pawty!!  We've got

greenies & grass.  We've got gooshy food!  We've got toys & paper towels to shred.  And we have boxes boxes boxes!!  Wheeeee!!

 "This is my twin brother of another mother, Star.  He is teaching me to be a good Ninja Kitty.  I know how to grab mom's hand and make her pet me!!  I have all kind of toys and there are two kinds of water fountains to drink out of and we get at least two Greenies every day and a window seat and mom let's me sleep on the couch!!  I love my brothers... well, except for my stinky brother Knives, because he's fat and greedy but mom makes him behave."

PS mom saw the ENT today.  Her ears were clear today but he thinks she has TMJ so mom is on a liquid diet for 5 days!!  No gooshy food at all!!!  We're not sure how she'll stand it!  Tomorrow mom will go see her pain management doctor & Jennifer will see her pcp nurse practitioner for migraines & generally not feeling very good for the last few days.

Four Months With Audrey

 "This is me when I was a baby and lived at Chrystal's house.  She was my foster mommy and has a private rescue for cats & woofies.  She's going on vacation tomorrow  but keep an eye out on her blog!  Your house might make the purrfect Forever Home for one of her rescues!"

 "This is me looking out the window while driving to my new

Forever Home!!  I'm licking my lips because mom said I'd get

greenies when we got home!  I am a very very good car rider.

Everyone was very impressed, which is as it should be!!

Everycat knows that black cats are the best!"

 "Playing with hair bands is my most favorite game!  I don't

chew on them.  I carry them all over the house and try to get

the Feeders to play with me.  I like to skitter scat them most in mom's bathroom though.  There is a scale where I can hide them

(and move around to get them back!) and a stool where I chase them around the legs.  I like to steal hair bands off of dad's nightstand."

(PS Everycat needs to be watched to make sure they play

safely with hair bands!  Swallowing them is a Bad Thing!)

"Next month I will be one year old!!  I'm as long as my twin

Which is understandable since I am a Princess."

but Knives, my archnemesis.  We're getting better though.  We still chase each other off of places and I still hiss at him but he's started trying to touch noses with me & stuff.  ICK!  Knives cooties!!"

YAY! Chrystal Cuts Ribbon on the Second Cathouse!!

 This is Audrey neè Sparkes as a kitten.

 She was fostered at Chrystal's private rescue, run by Chrystal and her family.  We saw this picture on her blog called daily dose of dogs (aka cats with your coffee).  Her brother Ash found a home and Sparkles was heartbroken.  She spent months looking for a Forever Home but one one seemed to want her because she growled at the other cats.  Now I have introduced cats who weren't comfortable with other cats for decades.  And Sparkles looked just like the Founder of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde Christopher T Cat.  Just like StarWatcher and just like our current black cat StarWalker BitCat the ComputerKitty.  We were all in love with her and finally we decided we just had to have her in our family!!  So we asked if she could be a member of the Horde.  Chrystal was so excited and so were we!!  I give new cats a year before I worry about them fitting in the Horde.

 On the way home the kids and I thought her name was Nova.  Dale insisted her name was really Audrey.  It turned out that Dale was right!  Her name officially became Lady Audrey Nova StarWatcher (that last in honor of StarWatcher who was the second black cat of the Horde when Star was adopted at the age of four weeks).  Her use name is Audrey but she is most definitely a Lady in every way.  It took her awhile to become friendly with her brothers although she still has anarchnemesis in her brother Knives.  Her first friend was her twin brother of another mother StarWalker surprising none of us and followed by 'twins' Zaphoid Beeblebrox and Sir Thomas of Snuggle.

Blog the Change!! Daily Dose of Dogs (AKA Cats With Your Coffee)

For Blog the Change today we'd like to sing the praise of Our Hero Chrystal!!  She is a private rescuer.  She was our own Lady Audrey Nova StarWatcher neè Sparkles Foster Mom.  On her blog daily dose of dogs (aka cats with your coffee) you will find the heartwarming stories of the many many many cats and dogs that she has rescued, cared for and found new Forever Homes.  We adore her!!  That's one of the reasons we keep the story of Audrey on the left sidebar of our blog along with a link to Chrystal's blog.  Chrystal, her husband and her two daughters do all of this tremendous tremendous work out of their great love of animals.  They don't get paid for any of this!  Well, any green papers.  Just the love of the animals they take into their home and the donations of those of us who can afford it.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde and their Feeders don't have a lot of green papers.  But rather than ask you for some today or even ask you to buy anything from our store, we'd like you to go over to Chrystal's blog and please take a minute to donate to her private animal rescue!!  Even if it's just a few green papers.  Or ask her for her address so you can send some coupons!  When we went to meet her to pick up Audrey we didn't have any toys or foods or green papers to donate so we cut out all of the coupons we could to give her (especially the woofie stuff since we don't have any woofies).  Whatever you have.  Whatever you can spare.  And if you have the room in your heart and home to provide a Forever Home for one (or more!) of the furfriends currently living at Chrystal's home, trust us.  You will love them.  If you have the chance to meet Chrystal you will meet one of the most incredible people on earth.

Trust me.  I have been rescuing cats for over 30 years now as an adult and come from a family of rescuers.  She and her family are a blessing to every animal who come under their hands.  We feel blessed to know them and even more blessed to have Audrey in our lives.  Thank you Chrystal.  You are Our Hero!

"My foster mom Chrystal got her computer back up!!  You need to read all about it in her blog!  It got sick like my mom!  I didn't know computers could get sick!!  Someone needs to adopt Handsome, 'cus he looks like me & my twin brother from another mother Star, and black cats are the BEST!  But there is another cat at my foster mom Chrystal's home!!  Her name is Daphne and she is blind in one eye.  She is FIV-positive!!  She has a mass on one mammary and here is what my foster mom said about her today:

I put Daphne on four different types of immune-boosting natural products. She did not eat the first day, I would guess because of the fever. But she is eating now - everything we put in front of her. No fever. Her eyes are running less. She is using her leg a little bit. We are a long way from having all of these infections under control. And I know all too well how quickly a cat can make a bad turn. But right now, Daphne is on a soft blanket. She is eating her food and loving every bite of it. She is purring and head butting and pitting. We don’t know what the next week brings. If we can deliver Daphne back to health, is there ANYBODY out there who can direct us to a home for FIV-positive kitties? We need your help.

"I love my new Forever Home with all of my brothers (maybe even that stinky ole' Knives) but Daphne will need a home where she can be safe and pampered and taken care of by Feeders who understand FIV furbabies.  If you know how to do that and you have the space and love in your heart, please please please let my foster mom know!!  If not, please purr and pray for her!  (donations wouldn't be bad either... Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde: Stray or Shelter?

 "Hi!  I'm Sir Thomas of Snuggle.  I wasn't a shelter cat because

my mom was a stray.  Our mom's best friend took her in even

though she was allergic.  There were no shelters in the area

who would take pregnant cats at the time and they wouldn't take kittens until they were weaned.  When we were weaned, mom adopted me and my brother and her friend had our mom spayed and adopted her because her children loved our mom soooo much!"

 "Zaphoid Beeblebrox here!  My older brother Thomas is right!

It's one of the reasons it is SO important to neuter and spay!

Our shelters only have so much room!  And some areas don't have 'no-kill' shelters.  It's especially important to help support 'no-kill' shelters!!!  Please help do this whenever you can, however you can!!  Mommy puts in an extra dollar when she shops at the pet store."

 "I'm StarWalker BitCat the ComputerKitty.  I'm not a shelter kitty either.  Mom's ex-husband found me and my sister when we were four weeks old!!  We were shivering on the side of a walking trail, covered with fleas and encrusted with tuna!!  He brought us back to mom and said, 'You're going to be mad at me'.  We hardly filled up his two hands.  She said, 'Why would I be made at you?' and he showed us to her.  She said, 'Oh my!  Quick, send someone to the pet food store and get some kitten milk and bottles and then someone else get them cleaned up in the meantime.'  Eventually my sister was adopted by his parents and even though his stepdad said he wouldn't have 'indoor cats' she became his furfriend.  At that point I was the eighth cat in the Horde which is why one of my names is BitCat!!  People had tried to help me by leaving out tuna but that's not the help I needed.  By supporting shelters you also help support education to teach people to be responsible pet owners!!"

Sarah found me at a shelter.  Well... not a very good one.

The woman there said that I was a girl (which is what Sarah

wanted and what mom suggested since the other Horde members were Tims) and I was a BOY!  She wanted to help cats but she

didn't know as much as she should have.  So do check out shelters before you donate.  Make sure that they are safe and healthy

places where they take care of their animal companions and are picky about Forever Homes.  One of the ways you can help donate if you have no green papers is to donate blankets, toys, extra coupons and things or spare time.  Companions need lots and lots of loving!!"
