Mom here! The great people at Mr.Chewy gave us a $50 gift certificate to try out their services. The food came really quickly and the packaging was great (you can see how much Knives liked it!). I loved the fact that I didn't have to drive across town to the pet store or pay a lot more at Kroger. If I spend $49 or more I get free shipping even though it's heavy. The other internet place I've purchased from before didn't because it was ground shipping. Don't be surprised if I don't order food from them anymore! The price is the same as it is at the pet store if it's not on sale (I'm a member) but given that I'm not paying shipping the $7 difference per bag on sale makes it more than worthwhile!! Oh yeah, and the price cut on that other place's internet store? Didn't even cover the price of shipping.

The other cool thing they do is a donation program. Any friend of your's who uses your referral code not only gets 10% off but they donate $10 to a pet charity. My code is KDYE202 and $10 will go to North Shore Animal League (there are two other charities they donate to and I can change at any time so if someone buys something & would like me to change my setting I'll be glad to do so, I'm just familiar with North Shore and not the others). I almost forgot! You can do quick reorder or have a schedule set up so that if you're forgetful (like me ::shakes fist at fibro::) they'll ship automatically until you ask them to stop. The only problem? They don't carry my cat litter, Equisicat (cedar)! Oh well, nobody's purrfect! ::grin::

Back-up Cameras & Fountains

This one moves around like a toilet. Ummm, until Zaphy's fluffy fur kills the pump. It doesn't matter how often mom cleans the pump.

It has nothing to do with somecat dropping food in it!

It is pretty quiet and just makes a humming sound."

"Wow! This fountain is SO quiet! All you hear is the water falling into the bowl. And it takes the strain of fluffy furs and none of us drop food in it even though we drink from it. Mom says that if any of us liked to drink from the faucet we'd like it even more."

Testing of the Trees... (& Our Review at the Bottom)

I can't find the ai file to pull the original graphic but this is the one I got on my new coffee mug (it looks great on the mug by the way!). I wanted to review the cat trees. I paid under $40 for each. They look great! The big fault is that they are both wobbly. However, there is an easy fix. I found that just setting them up against a wall makes this problem go away, although if your cat is heavy you might want to put it in a corner or use an anchor. The smaller tree (the beige one) has smaller platforms. All three cats that I've put on the top platform have chosen to jump down from there as opposed to going down to the lower level. That said, they did like the bottom condo as well as the top platform and I think they will use the middle platform to get up to the top. This tree would be good for kittens as well as mini-kitties. If anyone has any questions about either of these feel free to ask me!! I'll review the tent once we've actually used it outside which may not be until Spring! The last box will be here today!! Our next post will be about the new window perch (going into the kitchen) as well as new toys toys toys!! (and greenies and Pernicious Flea stuff)

1 - Happy Habitat Cat Tent (mom says we won't use that until spring but Audrey's not sure if she'll like it. Star is betting Zaphy that mom will put it down on the floor some so Audrey gets used to it now.)

1 - Dreamworld Altea Platinum Gray Cat Tree (so that makes three trees altogether)

Oh, and mom got more stinky Pernicious Flea stuff too but we don't like talking about that.

PS There is a little kitten named Baker who needs YOUR HELP!! He fell!! His Feeder needs ~$600 (twice what mom spent!) and you can donate at kitten rescue or feral cat behavior. Mom is going to donate a few greens papers too and we'd love for you to do so as well if you have some to spare. Thanks!

Happy Gotcha Day Audrey!!!

Once upon a time there was a little kitten named Sparkles. She lived in Chrystal's Cat House with her brother. Sparkles was happy playing with toys and her brother and the other cats. But one day someone wanted to adopt her brother. Having her brother find a Forever Home was a good thing but the Feeder who wanted him could not take her as well. This made Sparkles very sad. She began to hiss at the other kitties in the cat house. She still loved to play with Feeders and love on them but she couldn't be with other kitties and Chrystal couldn't find her a Forever Home because everyone wanted a kitty that was good with other cats. So Chrystal put out a plea for someone who would be willing to give this poor unhappy a Forever Home.

It just so happened that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde and their Feeders had been enjoying the picture of Sparkles because she looked just like StarWalker BitCat the ComputerKitty (except she was smaller and a girl). Now the mom of the TMNKH has a looooong experience with adjusting new cats to the Horde (39 years). She talked to dad. They talked about it for awhile and then talked to the younger feeders. Everybody agreed that Sparkles absolutely needed to become the newest member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde!! So mom emailed Chrystal. Chrystal was SO excited!! She couldn't believe that someone wanted to give Sparkles a Forever Home. Mom told her that even if it took a year it wasn't a problem.

We met Chrystal at the border of Tennessee and Kentucky. We were all so excited!! We couldn't afford to give her a box of toys or food so we gave her all of the coupons we could for food (human and four foot!!) and cleaning supplies etcetera. It was amazing when we met her. But meeting our wonderful baby girl was the best. It was obvious that Star was her twin brother of another mother! On the way home it was decided. Sparkles became Lady Audrey Nova StarWatcher. She did so well on the ride home!! Everyone got a chance to hold her.

woofies can come too) to my Gotcha Day pawty!! We've got

greenies & grass. We've got gooshy food! We've got toys & paper towels to shred. And we have boxes boxes boxes!! Wheeeee!!

Some News First

We wanted to let those of you who don't already know, that dad has left the building. He is now living with another Feeder, a very nice cat and three woofies. They take him, the nice Feeder for a drag every morning. Mom and they are still friends. Star misses dad. This has stressed all of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde though. Because of that stress they're having a pissing contest (no, really!!). So mom went to Petco via Billmelater (a paypal thing) and bought us a LOT of toys and two new kitty condos so we will have three condos as well as a second window perch (hey mom! why didn't you get us three??). We hope that those things will help us destress so that stinky ole' Knives won't chase everyone and fight with Star.

"Actually it turned out to be mom. Mean ole' mommy left the house on Tuesday night and didn't come back until yesterday!! We were all so mad at her! We just had to come up and purr & shed all over her. Jennifer & Corwyn said she was at the hospital because her chest hurt. That was probably why Star was grousing at her. They did an... arteriogram on her and everything was okay (30% blockage) so they checked her gallbladder and it was okay. The... cardiologist said her potassium was only 3.1 and it should be at least 4. He thinks that's what made mom feel bad but he's having her come to his office today so he can take ultrapictures of her heart & see her valves. That's because mom is having bladder surgery on Monday (like she had over the summer). Knives is being mean mean mean mean mean!! He's been chasing me ALL OVER THE HOUSE!!

Mean ole' Knives. It should be better now that mom's home!"

Everycat in the Horde has been getting

ON the kitchen table for the last two weeks.

house during the day (I'm not allowed outside at night)."

"Pianos don't count as tables and I was never there. No, really!!"

PS for those wondering... we put flyers behind mailbox flags (it's illegal to put them IN mailboxes!), on corners, in our front yard, on certain stores; registered with the local shelter (also animal control & we're getting daily updates from them on cats who've been found); Craig's List & PetFinders. Given that the Horde started in 1988 and we've had... lots of cats come in and out of our lives some have gone out of our lives by many ways... crossing the Bridge, being adopted by someone else and deciding that they needed to be someone else's cat. We all have a feeling that either Thomas has gone on Walkabout to cross the Bridge (we've had two other cats do this) OR (and we think this is more probable) he had adopted another family who needs him more than we do. Everycat and Feeder thank you all SO much for the purrs and prayers. We would also like you to pray for Thomas' brother (yes, his littermate!) Zaphoid, who is starting to act like an Old Man. We're afraid that he may be starting to see the Bridge.

Thomas, the Laptop & the Mammogram...

Sir Thomas of Snuggle has been MIA for 3 weeks today.

"I knew mom was having trouble with the laptop."

"And Star was busy teaching important Ninja Skills to Audrey."

"So I figured I'd take on the job of laying on

mom's hand so she'd get off of the 'puter."

"We actually have a whole Breast Cancer section but the best news is that mom's mammogram was normal this year!! WHOOT!! This means that she doesn't have to go back for a dumb ole' ultrasound. What?? ::blush:: I know IT'S important to have one if you need one. But it meant mom forgot to get us new treats last year!!!" - Zaphoid

been going out as much either and mom has never ever let

us stay out at night (as if she had anything to say about it)!"

PPPS Mom lost all of her AI files with the shop graphics when her laptop fubared. ::sigh:: She still looking for a backup copy. Cross your paws!! If mom has had you email in the past, please please email her!! And don't forget to check out our shop! Our vet bills in the last couple of months have totaled over $500 and we're still having problems with Pernicious Fleas. meh.

"I'm helping mom feel better by playing with my hair bands! I make sure not to eat them. Mom is so grateful for my foster mom & her private rescue!! Without them she wouldn't have ME!! I think everycat should go over there and see if your next furfriend is there waiting for your place to be their Forever Home and/or to pass on some green papers (or coupons or or or) to help pay for the fantastic work they do to take care of all of us who need/ed help. Mom told me last night that the next Horde member we get will come from daily dose of dogs (aka cats with your coffee)!! It won't be for awhile because even if Sir Thomas of Snuggle comes home we have the perfect number right now but Zaphoid is getting a wee bit old. We all hope there will be a black kitty or a Siamese kitty there when we are ready to adopt again!! Black cats & orientals are the BEST!!"

"Uh-oh!! Where did my hair-band go?!? It's green and one of my favorites!! Maybe mom put it back in the bathroom where I play grab the hair bands out of mom's hand and then put them around and around the legs of the stool. It's lots of fun!! Oh yeah, mom is still coughing. She told us she has allergies & a summer cold."

Nearly Two Weeks Now...

My laptop went totally... totally. I had to reformat it to get the dvd-rw to read cds & for it to read the usb ports for anything but the mouse again. As I'm sure everycat and feeder who has to deal with computers understands, having to do this when one is a mom who has problems with a) green papers b) memory (physical and mental!) and c) nothing to put the back-ups onto, I'm now sans a lot of things. Email addresses, bookmarks, pictures, graphics, programs. Wheeeee! And given the type of pain I've been in lately, it may take some time before I'm up to snuff. At least I'm able to put new pictures up which will help with my depression (now if I could just afford someone to drive me to the doctors' offices & clean up my house!!). Sadly, Thomas has not come home. He hasn't shown up at the animal shelter. We've had signs up all around the neighborhood. His brother stopped calling for him after a few days which is unusual behavior in the Horde. Jennifer says that this means that Thomas has either crossed safely over the Bridge (he is 14 after all, even though he's healthier than his littermate) or that he's found a family that needs him more than we do. Thomas is a wonderful, loving and handsome cat. If he's found another family (which, honestly, would not surprise me one itty bitty bit!!) I would be okay with that. As much as I love and cherish him, if the Lord needs him to be with someone else, I'm sure there's a good reason. And he is so good for people who need love and affection. In other news...

"I have been diligently picking up all of the Ninja skills my

brothers are teaching me! I can now work the remote control!!

I've also started jumping when I race down the hall!!"

Escape Artist

Missing since ~0745 CST Saturday July 9th

Wednesday I had a procedure done, went fine. My laptop has been wonky. Saturday we went to take the Horde to the vet¹ (over $300²). Audrey & Thomas played the escape artist card. Audrey came right to the front door when we got home. Thomas is still missing.

¹ - We love our vet & our vet loves all of us!
² - Zaphy has a UTI, Knives has ear mites (itchy!), and everycat needed Pernicious Flea stuff!

Gah. My computer STILL doesn't see the DVD-RW or anything plugged into it via USB except for the mouse. Ticked am I? Why yes. Yes I am. In other news, the weather and I do not like each other and I do not want to marry it. But I can't take the NSAID that I CAN take because of the surgical procedure tomorrow. meh. Ergo, I'm getting off of the computer now. I'm not sure when I'll be back. I wish it would start working. I have some pretty pictures of the peahens we had in our yard today. At first Audrey started to go into pounce mode but as they got closer she realized Just How BIG they were!! I think it's the fastest she's gone into the house!

Someone is throwing up but hasn't be caught at it & I'm wondering if Zaphy might have a UTI. meh.
